    1964 EARS V6 Thread

Huzzah!  Just got my V6-Stages (http://imgur.com/a/bonFE) today and I'm pretty happy with them.  Here's a quick and dirty review of them:   "After spending a month or so looking to replace my TF10s, I thought about picking up the UE900s but they seemed to be eh and started looking into higher...

I gave the V6s a go from my Samsung S4 without and without a cMoyBB amp from FLACs and Spotify 386kbps.  I also hooked them up to my O2 DAC/amp and didn't get any hint of harshness.

I agree with Levanter about the mids.  It's a good balance between the mids and highs.  Nothing is super forward about the mids or the highs and nothing seems overly recessed.

    1964 EARS V6 Thread

Just got the V6 demos today and they sound great!  They are definitely a reference pair of IEMs with a decent sound stage, though I wish there was a bit better instrument separation.  However, at this point, if I want better I'd have to go out and buy a pair of the JH13s which I really, really...

    1964 EARS V6 Thread

Eh, I'll probably demo the V6s and see how I like them and go from there. I've been trying to avoid "wallet creep" and picking up high end flagships because then I'll need to upgrade my DAP, etc. My search all started with just attempting to replace my TF10s and now I'm looking at flagship...

Think the V8s are worth it? At the current rate looks like they will be around 700 which might be worth just making the jump to the JH16s.

    1964 EARS V6 Thread

If someone wanted a sound closest to the JH16FPs would you recommend the V6 or the V6s. I compared the quads to the JH16s and the pass was a bit too heavy for me on the quads. Also the JH16s had a much better soundstage and instrumet separation. Just returned the quad and V3 demos so I'm...

Help me choose! Triple or Quad 1964 Ears?

I know I'm reviving a dead thread, but I figured it would be useful for other people who have come looking as I have.   I just got shipped a set of the Quads and V3s to demo to see if I would like to purchase a set.   For reference, I have a pair of the Mad Dogs by Mr. Speakers powered by an O2...

"Mad Dog" by MrSpeakers, modified Fostex T50RP review

Amp is plugged into AC currently using a Triad WAU16-400 versus the stock WAU16-200.  It was recommended to me that I picked up the high amperage transformer for ortho headphones, so I ended up doing that.  I'll give it a go with the lower current transformer in a bit and see if there is a...

Quote: Hey Dan,   Thanks for the timely response!   (Your Mad Dogs are fantastic, by the way!  Found out about them via r\headphones thread I ended up posting and the cans fit my preferences to a T)     I turned off the high gain setting on the O2 amp and everything is back to normal.  ...

"Mad Dog" by MrSpeakers, modified Fostex T50RP review

Hey guys,   I had a random question about my newly acquired Mad Dogs which are awesome, by the way.  I noticed that before I picked up my JDSLabs DAC that the headphones were free from bass distortion.  However, as soon as I plugged them cans into my O2 amp via the DAC, they immediately...
