Upgrading from ATH-M50 to Sennheiser HD600

neutral is a term that can not be define fully, because it varies from one person to another.   If you live in the US or Canada, at a specialized sound/headphones store, you can probably find the Senns HD line, and it's not surprising to see a set of HD600 for testing.   Better yet, know...

Upgrading from ATH-M50 to Sennheiser HD600

I have the DT880/600 and had DT990/600 personally, but I never tried the higher end stuff like the T1 and T90.   if you can try at a store, give DT880 or DT990 a shot, recommend 600ohm, or at least 250ohm. but you'll need amping to drive 600ohm properly.   I am sure there are other...

SkullCandy Gaming PLYR 1 Wireless Mic Headset

with extended testing on these... comfort level start to fall after a few hours, the ear cups can definitely be a little bigger, perhaps I have big ears.   but the sounds are great from these, and it seems to built well, better then most of the wireless headsets I have seen.

Upgrading from ATH-M50 to Sennheiser HD600

I have owned the HD600, and I have the SRH840, which is close to the M50 sound signature.   I totally recommend you to try the HD600, it is an improvement. Personally I find them sound very different from one to another, unless of course you can manage to amp the HD600 signature like the...

Got my first proper headphones, the Sennheiser HD201's! :D

Great choice to start, HD201 been treating me well since I have them. I have tried and sold quite a few headphones but I still have the... HD201.   They are built well, been to many places with me and still holding itself up well... surprisingly.   Try some Amping on these and you might...

    Shure SRH840 earpad mod.

I haven't been following this, I am glad this mod is useful for some of you :)   Try different type of materials, there's no limit to what they are and very cheap to try and can be apply to other types of headphones.   If the socks are too itchy, try different type of socks, or change the...

    Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Review

Quote:   I don't own a COP, but I am sure these velour will change the sound quite a bit, probably closer to the DT770 since it's based off it. I did some testing with my DT880 in the past, earpads have a lot of impact to the sound. No commons on the cables tho, I am not willing to...

SkullCandy Gaming PLYR 1 Wireless Mic Headset

I was looking to find a wireless headset for my computer, while I was reading up, I bumped into Jude Mansilla's 2013 Head-Fi Summer Buying Guide, and saw SkullCandy Gaming PLYR 1.       I gave it a try, expecting wireless would be poor, but to my surprise, it is actually quite good...

    Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2"

Just the 4, 5 has the Yamaha DAC, unfortunately.   Quote: You can probably find a SGS phone (old phone, can probably find them cheap) and make it a PMP using kernal with voodoo, just make sure the model is patchable. I have the i9000m and it's great.

    Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 4.2"

They made a new one with slightly bigger screen? start to get overwhelmed with all the different sizes. Wonder if it has a Wolfson DAC in it.

SSD in iPod and trick to make sound quality really outstanding

I am no expert at any of these, but isn't it still a digital signal at the point of the hard disk? regardless it's a SSD or HD, it has not pass the processor/DAC section of your ipod. It'll need to be a big differences to be able to hear it (flac, 320kbps, 128kbps), and even at that some people...

    Smartphones as Sources

Wolfson DACs are in the better sound DAPs, in the Cowons, for example, people raves over them, you can find a lot of reading on this forums. Those smartphones with Wolfson DACs can be patch with custom firmware/kernal to use the full potential of the DAC.
