Yeah I agree, you need good quality files for the ES5. Otherwise it won't sound as great. 

I use them straight out of my iphone all the time. To my ears they are GREAT! I don't really see the need to amp them on the go. To me its not worth the hassle. 

One thing is for sure, the ES5's are comfortable!!! I can wear them for hours without them bothering me a bit. Most comfortable IEM's ever.

Well here is my story. I bought es5's a few months ago (4). They went bust two weeks ago. I was told that a driver busted. That worries me as ive done only a few live shows and was listening through my laptop when it went bust. So im worried about qualiyy assurance and longevity of these...

I've had my ES5s for a few months now (4) and today one of the monitors went dead. The sound was crackling and popping. NOthing particularly special happened that could explain that but needless to say that i'm freaking out. No idea what went wrong. I used them this morning and now one is dead.

I don't think they do but i'm wondering if they have a recasing service that I can pay for. Clear is cool but it has a yellow tint which just makes it look dull IMO. The clear cable is also more or less grey rather than clear. So altogether, i'd rather go for a black/smoke color combo.

A question for all that know : I just got the "clear" color and am now inclined to have it changed. I needed to send them for refitting anyways because one ear is loose but i'd like to change the color as well, anyone now how much westone would charge for that and whatnot? I'm actually inclined...

Well my point is that the Bass is certainly not the big weakness that it would seem because of the missing driver compared to the jaudio. Could there be a slight increase in bass quantity ? maybe. If that's what you are looking for than maybe the JH13s are for you. I haven't compared them both...
