It was noisy at Canjam so I couldn't properly audition the Shangrila. But all I can say is, their amp was a bit underwhelming, the tubes were leaky and hissed a lot.

Mine arrived today. This is so good, it fits all my bill, I could now drive my Dynaudio speakers and my HV amp (bypass, no volume pot) using the m920 as a pre-amp. The ODAC single ended output into the KGSSHV had distortion, I am not sure why, and it made the sound grainy and harsh. A class...

I have been away, am back. But I don't spend as much time browsing and looking for headphones now. I am settled for now with this. I have a pair of HD600, and the 009, I think they will suffice. One I could use to watch movies, and transport it with me, another I could sit down with and listen...

I don't always post, but when I do.   I have been away for a long time now, since I sold the 007 MkI, which I regretted dearly. So last year I made the HV, albeit with much explosions. I couldn't have completed the build if not for the fact that I received tremendous help from the Stax mafia...

  There is a 3 dots Braille thingy on the left side, at the front of where it says HD 600. That's how one can differentiate left and right in the dark. I have always been confused until I found the dots.

  Put it this way, I think if I am listening to classicals, or listening to music at a very low volume, I'd prefer the stock green filters. At louder volume where our hearing curves flatten out, I'd prefer the red filters more.   With the red filter, the ER4S is still less dark than the HD 600.
