Topping L30 - The new budget benchmark?
That would be me. Just to clarify, its the amp that I could smell. Once I realised it had an issue I disconnected and removed from the rack. Then sniffed it- definite acrid component burn smell- but no fireworks or smoke the night before. But the godawful crackle/ bangs on inserting the...- jimbob54

AUDEZE LCD XC
I have a couple of the grado extension leads couple of meters long, robust. Reckon you can pick them up for not a lot. Interestingly, think audeze use same company as grado for there 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapters- jimbob54

AUDEZE LCD XC
Single ended or balanced? Personally I'd get an extension, bought or custom made from eBay. Get a couple of feet longer than you need for the XC and it should do for any other new 'phone purchases in the future.- jimbob54

AUDEZE LCD XC
Never really any danger of putting a pair of LCD on back to front of course. But my 2nd hand pair didn't have a balanced cable included so I got mavismodz on ebay to make me up that one.- jimbob54

AUDEZE LCD XC
Well, I have the XCs (believe 2016) and recently got a pair of 2Cs. Curiosity got the better of me and I swapped the wood cups with the 2C grilles. Whether I now have a LCD X and a 2C closed or 2 completely different beasts I cant say but both sound very enjoyable post swap.- jimbob54

Guys and Gals, Amazon uk have a warehouse deal (ex stock I suppose) on a set of GS1000i for £800. Other decent non grado items there too. £300 too much for my budget sadly. http://www.grado.co.uk/grado-earphones/GS1000i-headset.htm?gclid=CLSc3ei32LsCFakfwwod0hMAeA- jimbob54
