Back up speakers on extreme budget
So basically I'm looking for small, inexpensive speakers to use for when I don't want to use my DT 770's for whatever reason. My budget is around $30, and I know I won't get much quality for this but that's all I'm looking for. Will be used for a mix of movies, music, and games. Anyone have any...- Fakeyfakerson

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Hey guys, I'm wondering how the STX driver settings interact with windows settings, and what the best settings were overall in terms of audio quality. I listen to mainly v0 mp3's, so I have the driver set to 192 Khz sample rate with 2 channels over the headphone analog out. I haven't touched any...- Fakeyfakerson

Beyerdynamic DT-770 (Pro/80) vs. DT-770 (Pro/250) vs. DT-990 (Pro/250)
Yea, I think the sound quality combined with the coiled cable being a nuisance means I'm going to end up shipping these back. Looking on eBay and there are some on there for $150 new from a reputable seller. I may start a new thread for this question, but is that generally a safe thing to do...- Fakeyfakerson

Beyerdynamic DT-770 (Pro/80) vs. DT-770 (Pro/250) vs. DT-990 (Pro/250)
Gave them a listen today. Hard to tell since they aren't broken in but it seems to me like they're how others described. More bass but not as controlled, slightly recessed mids.- Fakeyfakerson

Beyerdynamic DT-770 (Pro/80) vs. DT-770 (Pro/250) vs. DT-990 (Pro/250)
Hmm maybe but more interested in just the headphones for now. Going to focus on which sound better there before changing the sound of the STX- Fakeyfakerson

Beyerdynamic DT-770 (Pro/80) vs. DT-770 (Pro/250) vs. DT-990 (Pro/250)
They're in an Essence STX so driving them is not an issue. I've been reading a bit on these forums and it seems a lot of people say the 250 Ohms have more loose bass but less mids. I'm going to give them a listen tonight.- Fakeyfakerson

Beyerdynamic DT-770 (Pro/80) vs. DT-770 (Pro/250) vs. DT-990 (Pro/250)
Title says it all. Up until a few weeks ago I owned the DT-770 (Pro/80) model and loved it. Both of the drivers ended up rattling (from what I've read probably due to hair getting in the drivers) so since I had them covered by squartrade I sent them back for a full refund instead of trying to...- Fakeyfakerson

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Hey guys quick question about the STX. This card uses the same amp as the FiiO E9, correct? I was always worried when people say that so and so headphone with 250 ohm impedance requires a decent amp like the E9. I figured the amp on the STX wasn't super high quality because it wasn't a dedicated...- Fakeyfakerson

Xonar Essense stx Random LOUD high pitched Ringing Noise?
I've had this problem too. Windows 7 x64. I sent it in to asus for repairs and they sent it back after a few days, but according to their site they didn't actually repair anything, I don't think. Hasn't happened in the month or two I've been using it since. The only thing I did differently was...- Fakeyfakerson

Beyerdynamic dt 770's 80 ohm or 250 ohm?
Quote: Do you happen to have a 250 ohm DT770 to test with it? Won't be able to afford a proper amp for some time so I want to be satisfied with just the STX and headphone combo, sounding like it might be best to stick to the 80 ohm version.- Fakeyfakerson
