32ohm beyer DT 990's and a nice DAC.  if you can get an amp in your bugdet then go for that as well as 300ohm 990's and the amp.

i'm not looking for head rattling bass.  i need tight/punchy/fast bass.  enough to stir your heart yet, enough to warm up female vocals so you feel it in your chest   fast and firm for metal but extended and controlled enough to be atmospheric.
