feedback on vsonic gr02?
I'm currently using the GR02 Bass Edition and listen to mainly heavy metal. I would say that they definitely make listening to metal fun. Despite the name, the bass does not overpower. Guitars sound meaty, solos OK. Another good thing going for it is little to no sibilance. I get annoyed...- Darkchaser

S:Flo2/Teclast T51: Three dead DAPs, see how they failed…
Yeah, I had the S:flo2 for 3 months before it died. The thing can still turn on, but no sound was coming out from either the HO or LO. Then I sent it back to mp4nation for RMA HELL and in the end, I never truly received my s:flo2 back. I don't really care, the experience with mp4nation was so...- Darkchaser

MP4Nation
If you were to search the s:flo2 topic, you'd see my frustrations on the services of mp4nation.I could probably write a whole article about my experience with mp4nation. Maybe to summarise my frustration, for my own fun: January order --> 2months wait --> March Shipped --> 2 months using...- Darkchaser

Order by sound quality
Source is the most fickle part of an audio rig. There is never 1 source that is good in everything for sure. I know this coz I've had my fair share of DAPs. I can surmise the following: iPods - they are OK sounding players. The iPod 5G is probably the best sounding one I've heard, plus you...- Darkchaser

Wow! Sansa Fuze- color me impressed- Fuze appreciation thread
FLACVest, thanks so much. The BioEQ is amazing. I don't use all the other settings because they're not really to my taste, but the EQ alone makes a huge difference. Quote:- Darkchaser

What to get: Clip+ vs. Fuze vs. Fuze+
I've had a Clip+ and currently using a Fuze. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but Fuze won me over due to: - better battery life (10 hrs on Clip vs about 15 hrs on the Fuze) - better ergonomics. I guess my hands are a bit big? The Clip+ is a bit too small, and ipod or s:flo2 were too...- Darkchaser

P4 the Warbler a new portable amp from iBasso . . first impression pg 3 . images Pg 6&7 . . .
Yeah, it depends largely on the source. With an iPod, my iBasso T3D was required to get a good sound, but with my Fuze it sounded just as good unamped. So I'm kinda looking for an amp that can significantly improve the SQ through a Fuze. The D4 is excellent, but since the P4 is newer I was...- Darkchaser

Quote: Hey CEE TEE, since you have the IE8s, can you give some impressions of the P4>IE8 combo? I've been looking for a good amp for the IE8s, and tried the D4 which was awesome. Would be interested to know how well the P4 fares.- Darkchaser

Would a sansa clip+ (rockboxed + lossless) be a better source than iPhone 4 (mostly AAC)?
Personally I feel that the Clip+ SQ is better than any Apple iPod or iPhone. Being free of iTunes and having tactile buttons is a great bonus. I haven't tried the iPhone4 personally though, so I guess not a fair assessment. Regards to amp, I have tried my own IE8 with different amps. You...- Darkchaser

Sansa Fuze Appreciation Thread
Any good LODs? I saw a few on eBay, but not sure about the quality. Anyways how much difference does an LOD make? It seems quite debatable, personally I've used through the HO and it's still quite good, probably coz the signal is quite clean from HO. But yeah, I appreciate the Fuze a lot...- Darkchaser

S:flo2 impressions thread
I wish that was possible, but anyone with experience on mp4nation forums will tell you that any complaints are not allowed on their forums. They just simply do not like having complaints posted publicly. With this kind of service, it's quite understandable why. Don't believe me? Dig in this...- Darkchaser

S:flo2 impressions thread
Are people still considering the s:flo2? Don't. Why? I sent my player back for RMA in May. It's almost October. I still don't have it back. I'm still refraining from posting the whole story, but I have lost hope of ever seeing the s:flo2 back. Heck, I don't even want it...- Darkchaser

Pictures of Your Portable Rig [Part XIV]
Very nice Andy, how does the IE8 sound with the D10? I was thinking of that combo too but some people commented that the D10 is a bit bass-oriented and not a good pairing with the already bassy IE8.- Darkchaser

Sennheiser IE8 Impressions Thread
Of course, as usual different people will have different preferences. It also has a lot to do with what source you're using. I do agree that unamped, the IE8 is still pretty awesome. When I was using the s:flo2, the HP out was powerful enough. But when using an iPod, I do find a...- Darkchaser

Sennheiser IE8 Impressions Thread
Quote: That's awesome, I've been looking for an amp to pair with the IE8s and it's good to know you don't need to shell out for something like RSA Protectors for something good :) That said, I did have a chance to try out IE8 with iBasso T3D, and they paired really well. From your...- Darkchaser
