Upgrading to Dynaudio Focus 110 -- Which Sub/Amp to use?

Deleted.  Bought Parasound HCA1000 to go with the Dynaudios.  Keeping my SVSPB12NSD for now.  Using Marantz SR5002 as preamp until I upgrade to a DAC/preprocessor.

V-Moda vibe duo vs maximo im-590

As great as the maximos may or may not sound, they are worthless, imo.  Both my cousin and I bought the maximos, and both of ours lost sound in one ear within a month.  My cousin even got his RMA'd, and the same thing happened to the second.  I just threw mine out and bought Westone 3's.  I'd...

bookshelf speakers with larger woofers than elt525

My cousin recently visited me, and when he heard my AV123 ELT525 + SVS PB-12 NSD, he was really impressed and wanted some speakers exactly like them. However, he doesn't have space for a monster subwoofer to accompany them like the PB12-NSD. I got my speakers for about 150 on sale. The sub...

    Subwoofer problem

Does your soundcard have an equalizer? Perhaps equalize the bass down? Also, how are you working with audio inputs/outputs? Are the speakers connected to some sort of crossover, so that they don't reproduce the frequencies the sub is taking over for? Also, where is the subwoofer placed relative...

Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice. I'll put it in a corner next to the front speakers.

    Subwoofer placement/direction for front-firing SVS PB12-NSD

Hi Guys, I just got an SVS PB12-NSD subwoofer, and I'm hoping to get some advice on how to place it. I had two ideas: 1. Place it right next to the couch (to the side, next to a wall), with the subwoofer driver facing toward the front speakers. 2. Place it right next to the couch (to the...

    Good subwoofer between $300-$500?

Hi, I just got a new apartment in NYC and now I want to make it a proper home, so I'm buying stuff. Just got an LCD TV, a PS3 and the AV123 ELT525M speakers. Now I need a subwoofer. Any suggestions? I've been considering this one and this one, but I'd like to hear everyone's opinions on what...

Looking to get my first set of headphones. Looking at the Equation RP-21's. Any thoughts?

I don't consider the RP-21 to be an audiophile headphone. The details were lacking, and the bass was a bit muddy at times. At this price point, a Grado is a FAR better deal. However, I must admit, I LOVED the way the RP-21 is completely unfatiguing, no matter what I play with them. You can...

    Q-Jays or UE Super.fi Pros's

When I first bought them, I had to replace the filters after only 2 days and I was ANGRY. But then, as I experimented with different eartip sizes, I found that there are many ways to wear the Q-jays: foamies, small eartips that make a good seal DEEP in your ear, or large eartips that make a good...

    d-JAYS Filters

it's very obvious when they need to be replaced. the sound becomes muddy in one or both ears, or it cuts out altogether.
