Is there a mailing list to get notified when the pads are available for purchase?

I've heard that Audioquest is working on velour earpads for the Nighthawks. Anyone have info on this?

  Yes. My initial impression of the NIghthawks matched yours—congested with excessive bass. I did not see what the fuss was all about. Swapping out the stock pads for the Brainwavz velour pads cleaned up the congestion and toned down the bass nicely. Night and day difference.

  I got in the Nighthawks and Dragonfly v1.2 a few weeks ago, and congestion is exactly how I'd describe vocals with the stock pads.   Swapping them out for a set of Brainwavz velour pads fixed that in a jiffy, revealing a wonderfully clean sound with a much better sense of space.

  Yeah, just a set of Q701s here, but I'm hoping that others will want to show off. I could bring my Stream Magic 6.

Sounds like it would be a lot of fun, particularly exchanging ideas about music. A few dozen people there at any given times rules out options like meeting at a library conference room. I'll keep my ears peeled for Canlanta II.
