    O2 AMP + ODAC

Yes, the low gain improved things. Its not clipping now, but it still fells like its struggling. Instrument separation, soundstage and detail suffer badly.     Im feeding it with usb, I have dac/amp combo, so thats my source.

    O2 AMP + ODAC

Hi Guys,   I recently bought the EHP-02 from Epiphany. When listening to some tracks with a lot of dynamic range Im getting a lot of distortion (clipping?) at the load bits. I get the distortion at high volumes . but not crazy high, I could turn it up another couple of notches and still listen...

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player

Ahahaha. Their little forum has a sub-forum just to discuss how much Californacation sucks.   The whole site is a great resource and the forum has loads of album suggestions.   Thanks a bunch for this.

Only slightly off topic, but do you know of any sites that review new releases for their mastering. Maybe a list of "mastering critic recommended" new releases?

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

PONO - Neil Youngs portable hi-res music player

Wow, I can't believe people still aren't getting this. Please tell me why would anybody care about hi-rez ? Nobody, unless in a quiet room with excellent speakers or very good cans, can hear the difference between 320kbs MP3 and hi-rez lossless. Can you guys get that fact into your heads?  ...

I agree to some degree, but they're focusing on the wrong problem. Its mastering not the bit rate thats the problem. Things have been improving since 2005, apparently the loudness wars peaked then and its getting quieter ever since.

Quote:         Anywhoo, lets all feel a little bit sad as our favorite artists tell us how much better hi-rez is to cd when listening in the back of van.   https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1003614822/ponomusic-where-your-soul-rediscovers-music?ref=category   First video.

So an album will be between 120 and 240 MB. So it cant be lossless 96/24, cant it?      Looking forward to that.
