Buenos dias, greater recommendations thread. Soooooooo.... I've got an AKG K701 paired with the Fiio E9/E7 and I want something to complement the K701. What would you wise men and women recommend? I am open to pretty much anything.

Beats by Dre are a marketing ploy, nothing else. You're buying a headphone that you could get for half the price in return for a super-stars endorsement on it. People hate the "Beats" line because, like Bose, it takes advantage of those who are unfamiliar with audio equipment, and impresses them...

Pretty sure I saw multiple Beats at the gym, whether Pro, Studio, or IEMs. They are everywhere and the sweaty Jersey Shore watching Proletariat eats them up. So long as big media says they're cool. Ugh, I feel like I'm gonna puke after having typed that.

Year 12-15: Really, seriously, ostensibly horrible "Nu"-metal, rap-metal schlock (Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Coal Chamber, Korn, Slipknot, Orgy, Etc.) Year 15-19: Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, KMFDM, and a whole bunch of other EDM and Indust. Rock groups, IDM (Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Autechre)...

I let my mother listen to one of Bach's cello Concerto's on my K701, she seemed to enjoy it more than I did. I felt jaded and cynical.
