Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
I'm a recording engineer too! I do mastering as well. This amp is a very natural sounding neutral. It is not a coloration machine. Its sound and design are 100% appropriate for engineering. Very strong dynamics and strong imaging. The build is extremely good. It's heavy and solid. It's...- Andii

Audeze LCD-X
They're accurate. The good the bad and the ugly all gets pumped into your ear holes mercilessly. It's a good idea to listen to a lot of recordings that you aren't familiar with to get your bearings. Mastering jobs that are loud are grating are completely offensive to the ears and will cause...- Andii

Audeze LCD-X
I would say that there's no need to keep a spare set on hand at all. I've had mine since early 2021 and no signs of needing a new set anytime soon. I would describe the condition of the pads as "broken in" rather than showing wear. The only issue I had was that the leather got dried out the...- Andii

Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
Thanks. That is a great detailed description. I haven't heard those amps and wanted to know the differences. I am also curious if the soundstage widths are sometimes intentional for something made for audio engineering to make the imaging more precise and audiophile amps might make it wider for...- Andii

Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
What is your perception of the strength of the stereo image of the Asgard and Burson vs the RNHP? Is it just as defined or slightly more diffuse? What about the strength of the center of the image?- Andii

Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
No problem! I am here to put my own experience forward. I am trying to understand your rig. I might not completely get what you are doing. After googling what gear you have, I would actually think that the NAD as a DAC via XLR->RNHP would be the best configuration that you could run for a...- Andii

Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
If you are not liking it, the power supply probably won't give a radical enough of a change to change that. My impression of the RNHP is that it is really accurate. It was made for audio engineering and it is mercilessly precise like it says on the front in a really good way when the recording...- Andii

The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value
I bought a pair of these used for $120. The treble peaks are intense. I find them unlistenable without eq. After eq they improve a lot. Very impressive detail and imaging. However, I find that in exchange for all of that detail and imaging the way these present certain textures is quite...- Andii

Audeze MM-100
I don't see how changing the pads would pressurize the diaphragm as long as you press around the edges. If you put your palm on the center of the pad to make a seal and then pressed down like you were trying to operate a toilet plunger then yes. The things that should be avoided with planars...- Andii

Audeze MM-100
Those have aluminum yokes and a steel headband which is similar to the MM-100. After seeing both of these in a row it looks like Audeze is done with the plastic. That's what I am getting at. Before that came the LCD-1 and the previous gaming headsets. My LCD-1 developed hairline cracks from...- Andii

Audeze MM-100
From the specs and looking at the design these have the potential to be Audeze's best headphone yet for a lot of people because of the down to earth weight(the unconfirmed weight), a down to earth price and the aluminum/steel/magnesium build. Adjustable headband. That is a good move too. If...- Andii

There's a bit of a language barrier, but I will try to cover everything. The metal screw on the bottom of the post is what holds the post on the bracket and the plastic or nylon screw on the top of the post is to keep the bracket from slipping all the way off when you adjust it all the way to...- Andii
