Woo Audio WA11 Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

Has anyone seen a more cost effective version of the Woo cable that allows you to use the 4.4mm out headphone jack on the SONY NW-WM1Z directly to the 4.4mm input on the WA11? It has a second lead on the DAP end that goes to the 3.5mm headphone jack to act as a ground. $300 from WOO, I have to think there are other versions out there that maybe a forumite has seen or even bought? Thanks!

Thanks for the tip! I just searched through their entire website and can't figure out which one you are referring to? I'm thinking possibly one of the DAC adapters? Could you please confirm which one? Not trying to be lazy, it just must be different style than Woo's. Thanks

Curious, what is behind the small screw door on the back/bottom?

Probably the first time in years, I pulled out my WA11 to give my Susvara a listen. Possibly I've been out of audio game for a little too long but it seems I can't use USB-C-USB-C cables between the MacBook Pro the WA11? I had to put in a Satechi Pro Hub Mini in between for the Mac to recognise the WA11 as a USB-DAC device. And even then, it was al little finicky to play Music (formerly iTunes) through it.

You need the older USB standard which is the On the Go cable. It’s one of my frustrations with the WA11 and why I let it go.

I may have one somewhere. Trouble is I never tagged them so I don’t know if they are until you try.

WA11 has lots of power the but the inbuilt DAC and resolution I found wanting.

Cheers. Yes looking at the manual, it likes USB2.0 (despite the USB-C connector). I guess I have to use the Satechi Pro Hub Mini with it all the time.

Aside from full speeker-level amps, the WA11 is the only portable/desktop-level device I've got that can drive the Susvara. Actually I've always wanted to build an XLR-to-4.4mm LineIn cable so that I could hook up my Holo Spring to the WA11. I understand what you mean by the DAC resolution.
