The bass of the SE215 is a big jump over the GR07 BE, but I wouldn't say it was better. The bass of the SE215 is the reason I got rid of mine, its just too much
big jump as in what??
yes i meant the bass lol sorry the se215 has more bass in terms of mid bass especially. its a thick and slow compare to the be edition. (but thats because the gr07 has some of the cleanest fastest bass i ever heard)
mind you this is from memory not exactly the best obviously.
and the overall sound signature is different
the se215 is more mellow, theres a lack of treble extension compare to the more aggressive thin treble on the gr07
but if you like a thicker more mellow sound (bassy) the se215 is hard to beat at that price (along with some other goodies, detachable cables, the olive foams (best foams imo, for price to performance ratio) as well as the thick and long cables
yes thats what i am telling him
there is no harm in trying 215 at least as the signature is very non fatiguing,,,plus it has tonnes of bass without treble sparkle.
the above poster wants something better than gr07 mk2 as far as bass is concerned.
forgive me for the misunderstanding i hope you don't take this the wrong way,
but i personally don't think the se215's bass is "better"
quantity theres more, but i think the vsonics bass quality is better. i think its easier to get past the midbass and really appreciate the depth of the bass compare to the se215 which i found was very very punchy
maybe try the yamaha eph100?

can i post one thing offtopic??
can someone tell me at what volume of clip+ are they comfortable on an average??
ppl are telling me -25 to -30 is fine but with gr07 i am at -12 to -18
Not sure if the measurements changes with themes at all in Rockbox, but I typically listen between -6 and -12 depending on the situation (with the MKII that is) - when I had the BE, it was about the same IIRC.

I was not aware that the Bass, Mids or Treble of the SE 215's were in the same league as the GR07's, nor better in some areas?

Purchased the GR07 Classic Color Edition for $125 incl. shipping from Ebay as an upgrade from my trusty old Hifiman RE0, that I still enjoy very much. Have been using that baby since 2009.
Now the waiting game is on. Will be pairing it with my Headstage Arrow/Clip Zip. Still looking for a new DAP after selling my Sony X1050. Temporarily back to the Rockboxed Zip now.
i think u need a good burn in bro,,,at the start they will be intolerable to u as u are coming from re0.
