Sure thing, be interesting to find out if that works for you.

Is anyone using the UD110 with a Galaxy s4, specifically the i545 from Verizon running android 4.3? I inquidered about ordering the UD110 v2 and they said it was only working through usb recorder pro with the s3 and s4 but didn't specify a model or software version.

Hi, I haven't had the time to procure one to test it out.

However, the problem I had hasn't occured again. Will let you know if I do soon. Thanks.

I could listen both, but not at the same time.
IMO DX50 provides more detailed and overall higher quality sound. DX50 sound signature is darker, warmer in comparison with UD110 v2.
UD110 v2 performance clearly improves with external +5V power source. That makes it to perform closer to the level of DX50, but with more neutral sound signature.

So if I should choose between DX50 vs Ud110+amp and I would use this with an IEM, then the dx50 could be a better choice?

The iBasso will support the USB dac function with the next firmware and it can be used as a DAP instead of my iPhone on the go as well. I saw that after DX90 has been released the DX50 (mint condition) went under 180$.
Originally I was looking for a DAC+AMP insted of onboard audio, but I will go for the DX50 I guess, it seems to be a better package. :)

If you don't own a headamp, go for DX50. It's a more versatile solution and the incoming USB DAC functionality seems to be interesting too.

I would suggest UD110 v2 for use with active speakers or monitors, in that case you don't need headamp. Or I would pair it with cheaper, prefferably used headamps, for example E09K, E12,  C&C BH or cmoy.

I dont own any amp. :)
And yes, I thought about the ud110+cmoy combo, but the DX50 would be only 50$ more.. So if the foregoing combo is not better (or even worse) with an IEM, then for portability and dap function I'll take the DX50, which I have heard and compared to my iPhone. There was an audible difference between them . :)

Can anyone name a decent Sub 100 amp to pair with the UD110 v1? I currently use both the DT 990 pro 250ohms and the soundMagic HP100 I could use the help.

Search for used devices, for example Fiio E09K or older E9, FiiO E12 (portable), Objective2, Schiit Magni ...

Well I found the Schiit Magni for  a decent price, is that a decent amp?

Output impedance of UD110 v2 is many hundreds Ohms.
Impedance of typical headphones depends on frequency, it is not linear, with typical growth in the bass section. Typical impedance of IEM is less than 100 Ohm.
Headphones are connected serially to the output impedance.
High output impedance of DAC, combined with low impedance headphones, deformes frequency characteristics of headphones, perceived by listener.
Solution is headphone amplifier. Typical output impedance of a headamp is less than 10 Ohm, often less than 1 Ohm. Therefore a headamp does not influence frequency characteristics in the way like direct connection to DAC does.
