headphone choces:

prince -- "hits 1"
i just discovered this one. prince has an almost devo-like exactness to his production while remaining funky and loose sounding. amazing.

the orb -- "the orb's adventures beyong the ultraworld"
sheer electronica earcandy.

glass -- "powaqqatsi"
the soundtrack to ruggio's film-poem. a delight on headphones.

Well, looks like my vote was stolen, lol.

Kyuss- ...And the Circus Leaves Town
Electric Wizard- Come, My Fanatics
The Beatles- The White Album

Lot's of great suggestions here... the Who, Pink Floyd, the Libertines, etc.

I just got "the Devil's Bris" by Voltaire. It's incredible on my Alessabdro MS-1s. Lots of string instruments, particularly the display of violin playing amazes me. You guys need to give this one a chance!

The two other suggestions will have to be:
Pink Floyd - Meddle, which works great on all phones I've tried it on
Bad Religion - Into the unknown, Bad Religion like you never thought they could sound, their first album. They allegedly don't like it themselves, but they're wrong!!

God Lives... nice. Massive Attack is also great.

My three:

DJ Shadow - Endtroducing
They Might Be Giants - Flood
Rage Against the Machine - Self Titled

Not necessarily for sonic reasons, just musically.

Excellent Choice: "The Truth will Set You Free" from the Unfold the Future album is the reason I decided to get into Head-Fi. They will be in Florida in early June

I only heard of them recently but have really been enjoying The John Butler Trio - "Sunrise Over Sea" CD. Apparently, not long ago, John Butler was a street busker. The CD is diverse, raw, and refreshing .... and well recorded.

My mom brought it back from austrailia. And damn if that first song isnt one of the catchiest in recent times. I like the rest of the album to though I am not sure about top 3.

Top albums that I would want people to hear?
Modest Mouse- Good news for people who love bad news
MY Bloody Valentine - Loveless (Not sure if its a favourite but its worth listening for the experience)
