Decided to keep.  Too much money invested and it's so comfy!

Can't go wrong with the T1s.

Does anyone have experiences with or speculations about the T1 paired with a SOHA II? I know it's a low-voltage hybrid but it can put out tons of current. In the end, voltage and current are intimately related through resistance so does the voltage swing really matter if the current output is high?

My current setup is Lossless files->Audio-gd DAC19 DF->DNA Sonett->Beyer DT880 600 ohm's and I thoroughly enjoy it. However, if I plan on upgrading, should I invest $500-$600 in a better DAC or on a pair of T1's? Also, how do you think T1's would compare against HD800's, HE6 or LCD-2's given my setup? I've always been a fan of the DT880's and I don't have much experience with other cans.

hard to say.. its all personal preference at the 1000+ level.  ive tried the T1, hd800 and lcd2. i had to sell the last to get the next and i currently own the t1.  its a great all-arounder but technically speaking i think the hd800 is superior.  the lcd2 is too heavy and fit isnt good.  the he6 i have never had the chance ot listen to.  but with that one, youre gonna need a new amp. something to consider.

Aside from the weight, how did the sound of the LCD compare to the T-1?

out of curiosity, is the t1 very demanding to drive?

They are very high efficient headphones...so no they are not that hard to drive as many headphones. Don't let the 600 ohms scare you...it shouldn't really. That said, to get the most out of them (like pretty much all top tier headphones), they are very revealing of what you have upstream.

Are there any voltage requirements or thresholds?  My amp doesn't pack a whole lot of heat.
