I can't say I like my Quintets more than my Monarch MKIII, but it's right up there.
How many hours are people burning in the Quintet for? How does it improve? I never burned mine in, but it sounds great...should Iput an extra 100 hours on it? Any insights would help

I always feel like audio gear warms up after like an hour of use. With Quintet I could immediately noticr some metallic timbre but that mellowed out. It sounds really natural now, especially with spinfit cp100 tips. Currently trying them with sedna xelastec. I’ve also tried them with spinfit w1 tips but they get a little too bright for me with those.

It needs a wide long bore small tip to sound its absolute bestTry the Divinus Velvety tips if you have them
Best tips for the quintet?
I use Spinfit CP155 tips with the Kiwi Quintet and almost anything else.
However, the "best" tips are extremely individual of obvious reasons.

Yeah I get your point. You can just EQ the bass and then you might have 95 % of the MMK3 sound.
Mmmmm yes?... Kinda?... But that 5% is where a lot of the intangibles that make the Monarch really stand out live and you really can't EQ those things into the experience. The Quintets are an incredible powerhouse for the price though, and they're my top rec under 300.Yeah I get your point. You can just EQ the bass and then you might have 95 % of the MMK3 sound.
