I genuinely laughed, thanks.Spending that much for pads and headband is enough to fatigue anyone.

Anyone ever successfully repaired the old headband?
For the O-ring 28,29,30 mm are best !

On the older style headband, the O rings seem glued(?) in and not removablehttps://www.head-fi.org/threads/the...essions-thread.666765/page-1395#post-17303008

Cut the O-ring as much as possible and add a new one with the small crimping piece that you squeeze with pliers
No my fault that Abyss have sick prices of their accessories.LOL, so what you are saying is I'm out $295 for headband and $395 for pads=$690

You can replace the O rings on Amazon, etc. Search this forum -- lots of people have. IMO the O rings are a really chintzy approach for a TOTL headphone (they break regularly), but it is what it is.My old style headband O ring finally snapped. I don't know why Abyss persists with this completely cheap and fragile system, the discomfort it provides is incomprehensible in view of the price of the headphone and accessories. I don't understand the objective or it's because I'm a beautiful sheep (it's possible!)
Same here. My TC is about 2 years old. I wear my TC adjusted such that the pads barely touch my head with no clamping pressure at all. Worn this way, the pads get almost no wear. I use a leather cleaner/conditioner several times a year to keep the pads looking good. Also I have 5 headphones in my listening rotation so their actual use is only about 5-6 months over the 2 years of ownership . I also keep all of my headphones in cabinet drawers out of the sunlight so no exposure to harmful UV. My TC pads look like they’re new.Mine have 2y+ and still look very good. Abyss new pads price is ridiculous...

I faced this problem long time ago. I fixed it by using elastic bands I could readily buy from local grocery store, and wrapped around it with ZMF pilot pads that I happened to have around.
The ZMF pilot pad is thick enough for me not to feel the bumps cause by the joints of the elastics.
A closer look.
At first I thought this will be a temporary solution, a quick hack until I find a better one. But it still here, 4-5 years after I installed it.

Yes, quite significant upgrade, especially in soundstage.
Hello folks. I'm looking for some data points to determine if my Line Magnetic 508ia SET (48W) amplifier can drive these headphones effectively. Ideally, using the speaker taps. Any feedback from a similar use case would be highly appreciated.

I use a 20W SET and it is wonderful with it.
But this spec from the 508ia could be a problem:
S/n-Verhältnis: 87db
I don't think it will be noise free with it.

Really interested in your take on the Genus.
