Hooray, re-installed firmware v1.16, now it remembers what track I last played. That was getting so annoying remembering where I left off last everytime I switched it on
Definitely not just now as many had reported the same. Not sure if everyone got their brain burned in as the above poster conjured or the caps got formed and sounded different after a week or two... To be honest I don't even remember what mine sounded like brand new 3 weeks ago. What I know is I am still loving the sound
Too many to have the burnitiss, something definitely changed else an army of brains got rewired
Well, this is Head-Fi after all.
That being said, I'm really digging the sound of my DX50 but I'm not sure if it has changed at all in the week I've had it. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm coming from the DX100 and not a warmer source like many other DX50 owners who merely adopted the clarity? I was born in it, molded by it...
Fifth batch now indicated on the website.
Hope I made the cutoff for the fourth batch.
You got a point there, this is my first audiophile class dap so no reference other than Apple products. Out of the box I found it quite bright on the treble side, other frequency bands were fine. When I got the 1.1.5 firmware I felt the highs have tamed for me. I still feel the they are bright and my ears get irritated after few hours of listening but got more bearable.

I watched the DX100 for a long time was initially excited but price and mostly size kept me away from it. I gather by your posts the DX100 seems to be a very good dap.
I was wondering whether iBasso will turn this into a USB DAC like Fiio are doing. If they do, this will be an even better DAP than it already is. I might email iBasso about this.
I thought that it was only speculative that Fiio X3 will get a firmware upgrade enabling USB DAC, and ever officially announced/confirmed. That being said, I sure hope iBasso does enable USB DAC too. What's iBasso's support email?
