I have both of them, they make an awesome combo, its damn bassy but it isnt over bassy, it doesnt intrude into the other ranges, its tight and controlled, i also use m50xs with my x3, with bass on 10. Man they are amazing, everything is clear, bass is load and deep and controlled. I am one happy customer. I will buy fiio and nothing else. :p

Got mine!  Very nice indeed.  The DAC is just superb and a the fact you can use it as a computer DAC is a big win.

I was a little less impressed by the amp.  While good, using line out to my cmoybb takes it to another level.  It worked incredibly well in my second system (Yamaha amp + Soavo 2 speakers).  The sound became effortless, clean and musical.  Such a joy to listen.

So, mine has FW 3.0.  Where can I find the other versions and know what the difference is?  http://fiio.com.cn/support/download.aspx shows 3.0 as the most recent version, but I hear people mentioning 3.2 and the such.

So, I saw the post.  But it is for a beta version.  I'd prefer to use a stable version.

Also, what's the difference between 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 and older versions?  (Again, I not talking about the 3.21 beta.)

I have never heard of 3.1.

3.21 beta is much more stable than 3.2.
3.2 has a whole load of issues for me. It forgets what track is next when you turn the player off and on again. It also crashes whenever you want to fast forward or rewind on a track. 3.0 I would say is the most stable version at the moment. But I think 3.21 is much better than 3.20 from what I have experienced so far. It is hard to tell what has been done other than it sounds a tiny bit different.
I don't know if everyone has this problem with 3.2 but I have tried updating the X3 to that 4 times now and it has a similar issue every time.

On 2.1 the UI looks very different and I actually preferred it. The only thing that I didn't like about 2.1 is that it had this bad background hiss/crackling on Mp3 files.

I really don't get on with this FW. I have updated to 3.21 and that is quite a lot better. If you are wanting the latest stable version that isn't a beta, I would stay with 3.0.

Try this one out but keep the other FW available because you may well want to go back if you have the problems I do!

My major gripe with the X3 is that it 'forgets' where it was when I turn it on sometimes. Also similar was that when people hit the 'back' button after turning the unit on and off, it just shows ALL SONGS, instead of the folder where it was. Some people may not care - but with 100's of songs and folders that I am listening to IN ORDER, its really a bummer for me.

Was this particular issue solved with 3.2? or 3.21?

With 3.21 mine remembers perfectly, not a second off, also doesnt have the 1/1 song glitch either.

Oh, I have a question about new 3.x UI. I'm on 3.21 now and I noticed that tags (such as name, artist etc) disappears after a few seconds. On 2.1 I can chose what to display om the screen. And now to see what song is playing now I need to hold 'back' button until round menu appears and only then I can see what song is playing now (is there any other way?). Also on 2.1 there was ability to display songs lyrics. So this is impossible with new firmware? I like how 3.x UI looks like, but functionality was better on 2.1 as for me

For me no Fiio X3 firmware release is complete until the famous "Mr Trev graphic treatment"
biggrin.gif

I'm really not going to install a new FW version until I have the chance to use a "list based" GUI.
Fiio should have an agreement with Mr Trev and include his theme as one of the options to customize the default GUI.

Thanks Mr Trev for letting all X3 users enjoy properly their own player.
