The Fiio X3 Thread.

This should not be this difficult. It's putting music on a DAP which should organize it for you. My $20 Clip does it perfectly.

It really should be that easy, at least it was for me. The one thing I can think of might be the version of id3 tag. I have musicbee set to write both id3v1&v2 and it works fine. I remember others talking about a utility for mass tagging, but can't recall the name (mp3tag maybe?). Search here in the forum and hopefully you can find some more info.
I guess the best thing to do is experiment with tags for 1 album till you find what works, then do the rest

Yep! I had to do the same thing. Just install the program from http://mp3tag.de/en/index.html and drag-and-drop all your music files into it, click the button to delete all the tags, and then hit the undo button. If I remember correctly. No idea how/why it works or why the X3 can't figure it out in the first place, but it gets the job done!

In fairness to Fiio, Apple claims basically the same thing, but I get all sorts of headaches going through iTunes, or the third party apps (FLACPlayer and Accudio) screwing up the libraries and album art on iOS7, and yet when I talk about Apple that way the general consensus seems like it's all because I have not yet accepted Steve Jobs as my Lord and Savior.

So  my 64gb card seems to be working now which is definitely a good thing seeing as I was not unable to get it work the last time I tried one. This is much better for me since I was running low on 32gb so double that should be enough for me :)

I got mine at B&H a few weeks back for $150, but it's gone back to $200 it looks like. If you want a fiio dac/amp, I'd just wait for the X5! Or at least wait to see what the price will be; a better GUI, dual card support, and DSD support are worth a little time and money, if you ask me!

Any DAP equal in soundquality and function will cost way more, so personally i'd say that even €400 is a steal.

Same with the X3 TBH

u both are right but i want to squeeze the fiio further, lol

i am not getting x3 as i love my superlightweight clip+ but i guess now time to upgrade has come.
also considering f886 but reviews are not that positive as far as only sound is concerned plus i want a player with a decent amp,,,not in the league of e12 but good enough to drive everyday headphones so f886 is out.

You might look into an iBasso, like as iBasso DX50, or, you can just get a portable amp for your clip+!

But, if you're just trying to drive more-or-less regular (32 ohm?) headphones, I say that the X3 does pretty well! With my AD700s, I keep it around 30/60 on low gain (it also has high gain), so there's plenty of room for more power! It probably won't drive some orthodynamics or 600 ohm headphones very well, though.

no no
power is not the problem now as i have got only earphones at this moment.
but i am planning on getting headphones in near future so i want to be prepared but main concern is improvement in audio  quality!!

yes dx 50 is an option too but costs 50$ more with similar performance

Any suggestions on a good complementary pair of headphones for the X3?  I'm currently using a pair of Westone 1's which certainly work well but I can't help but feel I'm not getting the full experience with them. My music tastes is varied with a trend towards electronica/house music.

any good deals on x3 ??

besides mp4 nation one??

I can sell you my X3 for what I payed at the Adorama sale plus shipping. I was going to return it. I bought 2. PM me if you or anyone else is interested. It would be about $150. There is nothing wrong with it. My issue is with them is my problem, not the X3. I just need to learn how to tag them.
