Phonak PFE 012s now come with what looks like spare gray and black filters on special besides the green. For <$100, that has to be the best deal going.
Well it depends what music you listen to, Brass instruments are pretty veiled and distant when in the mid ranges. Most guitars in songs are hardly heard. Vocals are also pretty horrible in most songs. It's extremely V shaped. Seriously listen to the Pannies then go to the 3rd gen apple earbuds and you notice how distant mids actually are.
I have Klipsch s4i and would appreciate recommendations for better sounding IEM's with for $200 max. I listen to AC/DC, the Beatles, Abba, Mozart, Lady Gaga and everything in between.

Yes, I did, they were burned-in for about 100 hours before listening to them. And I did the foam mod. The highs are not realistic and theres alot of congestion on the high-end. And mids ARE recessed. Of course that you just notice that when you start hearing stuff like the SM3, W4, UM3X and the likes. Anyways, extensive A/B's have shown me that the 20€ Xears TD100 were more realistic (treble) and had a bit more soundstage. Concerning bass, I had no complaints with the HJE900. But bass is not all. Sold next day after burning-in/extensive listening and A/Bs. Worst hype I was victim of.
