where would you even find these headphones now? The only places I can see them sold is in the for sale section on head-fi, and they go for around ~1.2k

got mine from a local hi-fi dealer who carries some high-end phones. these were the last pair.

check out the w5000 and w1000x woodies. dunno how similar they are to the w3000anv sound wise.

1.2K is still a generous price. Not sure if these will get to the heights seen by the L3000 which could sell a few K..

I think the L3000 were a much more limited run, maybe around 500 total?  $1,200 was around the price the W3000ANV cost to import from Japan when they first came out so it's still a relatively fair price for them.

for me, because of its particularity, the W3K is simply unique.I currently use on audio gd nfb 5.2, but I will soon move to V800 + V200 combo and I still hope more ...

picked these up today. unboxing them felt like christmas. the packaging is deluxe and the cans don't disappoint. haven't spent much time with them but like what i'm hearing so far.

I have both the W3000 anv and the TH900 and IMHO the TH900 is on a league above

Thats why i went for th-900, though i wish to hear w3000 one day and see how it compares to w5k which was really bad

I don't doubt the TH900 is probably technically superior to the W3k, but it's more likely the frequency response--the tipped up highs and recessed mids of the TH900--that'll determine, or make or break a person's choice between the two.
