The Audio Technica W3000ANV Thread

Just found a new way to enjoy my W3000anv's.
For those who think that the bass is a little thin, just plug it into a JDS Bass Boost cMoy v2.03 Headphone Amplifier. It boosts the bass by 9.4dB.
I was really surprised by the sound I got out. It's good at all volume levels but especially fun on low volume levels. The headphones handles the extra bass with flying colors with no distortion at all.

Good value for $50

Demo before buying. I did just that earlier this month and it removed any desire to buy the W3K. Am saving up for TH900 instead. My ears, preferences and music taste disclaimer yada yada

You're post kinda stopped me in my tracks on the idea of trading my TH900s. I was hoping for another comparison before finalizing my decision though.

I made a rather longer post than that about my demo! I would refer to muppetface's longer experience in the OP of the TH900 thread though. I can perhaps see the logic in trading the TH900 blind if you really have no demo opportunity. In the UK the TH900 is £200 more expensive than W3K

Yea, muppetface definitely said that the TH900 was a more  all-arounder than the W3000 which has a very niche sound. Of course for what it does, I expect it does sound amazing.

thanks for the advice. can't try the w3000 but might be able to hear the th900. figure I wouldn't have any problems selling the w3000 if I didn't like it.
