The Astell & Kern AK240

Just saw an AK240 sold at around $1680 2nd hand. I think people are preparing themselves for the new model now.... :-D

where do people sell it at 1680? I think it's not a bad price at all...

Soon, Geek Wave DX128 will come out. I'm sure iRiver will make a new model to compete with DX128.
I think they will make an AK480 with 32bit / 386khz support and maybe a bit more storage expansion. If they put two SD card slots, it will give me a good reason to purchase it.

I'm quite surprised with that price too.

I don't think they will try to fight downward (price wise) given now they created the luxury DAP market.

I think CHG means that people paid anywhere from $1999. (maybe less) and up.

For the record, I do not think there is a AK440 or a revision of the 240 anytime soon. IMO

Speaking from a non-geeky or must-buy-new-gadget point of view. A new successor will not make my AK240 sounds worse. I can still enjoy my DAP in the future as I'm enjoying at the moment.

i think we would buy a new model not because the one we have sounds worse, it is just that we get bored...
