Subtonic STORM: Impressions and Discussion
My order is for the x4 wire Mira cable. I will be paying my super accommodating dealer Elise Audio ( @SoundJedi )
a visit to make sure that the thicker cable will still do just fine for on-the-go use.
I couldn't be more excited to get my unit and have been enjoying the recent stream of updates talking about some of the technology and what has been going on behind the scenes. @Subtonic Ken 's level of engagement has also given me the confidence to buy a Storm without a proper audition, which is something I wouldn't normally do given the price of admission.

Impressions please!Enjoying my unit to some good old Terraria music.
Listening was done with 4-wire Mira on STORM, Lotoo Paw 6000 and HUM MA-1B.
Trailing notes on STORM is absolutely mesmerizing, love how cymbals are on it along with the incredible imaging. Found myself looking around at times because of the out of head imaging that happens with these pair.
Dir En Grey's "Stuck Man" in particular was a track I found that STORM easily exceed others among the ToTL IEMs I have tried. From the acoustic strings transitioning to heavy guitar notes, rapid drums, multiple directional ques and Kyo's guttural growls with rapid flipping to ear piercing shrieks, Storm wonderfully replicates all of it. Orchestral and slower mandopops were an absolute delight as well with Storm.
After auditioning many IEMs including Traillii, XE6, Jewel, Odin, Annihilator, Fourte and more, I think I can safely say that Storm was the right choice for me. I haven't really found any track in my library that doesn't work well with Storm yet as well, which is a frequent issue I have with many other IEMs.
