Subtonic STORM: Impressions and Discussion

Hi, is it possible to share some FR chart so we can get an idea what kind of sound it might produce? I knwo FR doesn't tell, but considering how hard it likely going to be try it, I guess FR will help most of greatly.

So for every STORM unit, you need to customise a pair of dual-BA woofers? Seems like a lot of work going into each IEM.

Question please - has the tuning changed from the demo version that was at Canjam London in July? This graph "looks" like it has had the bass boosted a bit.

Also congrats on getting this far and good luck with launch!

The tuning has been kept the same - perhaps it’s the difference in the rig used or the scaling (Y-axis) used. Thank you for your kind words.

Yes, but they also might be customized the BA woofers from manufacturers. I think indeed it would be a great amount of work for these IEMs.
We modify the woofers in our lab! Although a great amount of work, it is well worth it for the results.

Ordered a STORM from Elise Audio, can't wait! Hopefully my SP3000 (and desktop stack) will have good synergy with the IEMs! Can't wait to see more details announced in the coming weeks

@toranku
Will they also have it in Custom format?

Hello, the STORM is tuned with its universal shell in mind. We are looking at a CIEM option down the line, but we will only offer it if we are able to reproduce a very similar sound. We do not have an ETA or timeline for it.

Using the same exact internal components in a CIEM shell does not reproduce the same sound due to the lack of eartips and different insertion depth. We have to work around it to best figure out how to approach a CIEM tuning.

Congratz! Excited to try these for myself!

phil

I look forward to drooling over these!

Already am.

:v::ksc75smile::thumbsup: Congrats! Hope to hear Storm someday soon!

It'll be worth the wait!

Mai tu liao buy buy buy!

Launch party when.

Hope the team can host one before or after CanJam Singapore!

I can't be any less of excited for STORM. Going to SG just to audition it, and hopefully getting one in 2023, though this means I may or may not miss the launch edition.

That will be worth the trip!

Ahmed and Elise are great! Hope you have a wonderful time with the combo!
