Since I am lucky enough to be able to have all three of these fine RSA amps in my possession at this time, I thought I would put together some quick GIF animations that show the relative size of each.
I was blown away by the small size of the Hornet. I've heard this from others as well. I've been trying to come up with a way of showing the sizes of these amps, and this is one of my attempts.
As a point of reference, I have relatively large hands, though this is mostly due to long fingers. I have a 7" wrist (circumference) which is pretty small according to my wristwatch research.
Here is an animation showing the tops of all three amps. The amps, in order of appearance, are the RSA SR-71, RSA Hornet, and RSA Tomahawk:
Here is an animation showting the front of all three amps. The amps, in order of appearance, are again the RSA SR-71, RSA Hornet, and RSA Tomahawk:
I hope this helps someone with their decision making process.
I'm not in a position to compare their sound yet since the SR71 and Tomahawk are used while the Hornet is new. The Hornet needs its fair burn-in.
Suffice to say that so far the sound is as it should be - the SR71 sounds the best, followed by the Hornet, with the Tomahawk a very close third.
Stay tuned for more reports.
