I must admit, if ever I considered customs, that carbon fiber look would be just what I'd be after. Gorgeous!

Indeed. In fact, they'd be the most beautiful customs I've seen ... if ... I hadn't first seen the wooden ones.

I don't like to say "never" but to be honest, I don't think there would be any way to swap out face plates like say a "watch bezel"  and mainitain quality.  Now, if you sent it in to the mfg. annually and paid for a new face plate/art work etc etc, that could be done. Call it an "overhaul" and have the tubes, dampers, wires, & shell replaced. Over time, dampers get clogged with debris and moisture, might as well send it in for an overhaul & get new art work done at that time.

I'd be pretty cool if a swappable faceplate system were implemented though!

To the Wizard,

Once you've identifed the magic number to get things on the roll, I wish you well.  I'm not going to name any names here, but some members in this thread know who I'm talking about,  so please don't follow the path and execution of "xxxxx".  Business 101 will tell you that cash flow issues and piss poor overhead and asset management will sink any business faster than Hoffa with lead feet.

To my knowledge you have to send in the type of wood pre-finished to your specs, and than they but it out to fit the ear molds. People have used carbon fiber, and i was thinking, but never did, little lights...

Hmm... what about mother of pearl or opal?

That is a good question

The total process depending on what stage I have to begin at, can take months, weeks or days.

Or I could just go out an purchase a printer and make a "synthetic wood" water slide decal and speed things up.

But the Wizard chooses to do things "old school."
