So would you be willing to make other Head-Fi members woodied CIEMs from scratch? I'm sure they would cost more, but just looking at those has me drooling...

He's not allowed to unless he his a MOT, and you should PM him about this, not ask him on a public forum.

I thank those that asked the Wizard to build them a CIEM or re-shell their IEM.

I am considering creating a CIE/IEM company, but for those in the know, being able to make something is just a portion of the challenge. Getting a company to "take off" is a huge endeavor and it requires a lot of money.  The dirty acronym in manufactuering is MOQ.  Minimum order of quantity.  Just a nice looking shipping box can cost 1 dollar, but the MOQ could be 5000 units.  So there is a lot of "initial investing" and a lot of capital must be available and spent, before a company (especially a CIEM company) can be launched.

I am not saying it will "never" happen, but I am saying there are a lot of mountains to climb before it could happen.

Kickstarter sounds like a great place for a person like me to go.....   that said, I do not reside in the USA, and that is one of their criterias
(although I am a US citizen)

But, I do thank you for the "tip."

Maybe with a lot of hard work and a touch of Wizardry, this could happen.

Thanks again,

The Wizard

Maybe some sort of group buy?

a group buy may be helpful for injecting start up funds, but really it would be difficult to organize such an endeavor without a website.

It is a "chicken before the egg" type thing.  If one approaches an investor and asks for funds, they will ask how much revenue etc is expected. (all important questions)

But the CIEM is a cottage industry, I don't think any one reporst to any one, other than the IRS, revenue generated, units sold etc etc.

But thanks for your concerns and imputs,

Wizard

I don't know if this has been asked before, but FullCircle - what do you use to take pics of your creations?

Of the photos submitted, 3 different cameras where used....  what kind of cameras I have no idea!  Cameras to me, are like computers.... which means I am clueless. Luckily, we had some camera hobbiest at the office.

That said, "The green Lanter" photos were taken with an I-phone 4.

Yes, that is real carbon fiber,           'Cause that is how the Wizard Roles
