The first bubble that appeared above my head after reading the original post had "Nick Cave" in it.

With a little more thought, Devandra Barnhart replaced Nick Cave.

Then Edith Piaf made an appearance - sounds like she has terrible palsy or she recorded everything in a van driving over tightly spaced speed bumps. I'm not saying she has a bad voice, though it does make me motion sick.
