Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player
Mar 5, 2024 at 1:33 AM Post #2,416 of 2,442
Hello. I updated my M3X with the latest v1.75 update OTA. Now, my device won't play songs using a wired connection both in single-end or dual DAC enabled.

Tried using UAPP, Poweramp and Shanling player but no luck from it.

Also, Poweramp detects my Bluetooth connection as a wired connection. However, despite that it plays just normally with LDAC enabled. I am using a Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones. Can anybody help me out or have a solution for this? This made my device partially busted. I really wanted to listen songs through wired connection when I'm at home.

P.S. - My device has not been dropped, or anything that could potentially induce damage. Just a little information that I should add.
That's unique. Would recommend trying factory reset for this.

you can try to download the firmware file and flash it via the Support app as a local update. when you download it do not use any download manager. tell us how it goes
I will be doing this now. I just got home. Will post an update of the results.

update: I did redownload the latest firmware file from Shanling's website, flashed it using the file I downloaded. No luck still. Both single end and dual dac mode. Bluetooth still works. But still detected by poweramp as wired/aux

Would like to give an update to my situation:

I tried factory resetting my device again. Same firmware v.1.75. No 3rd party apps/Google Play installed. Played files directly using the Shanling app. No sounds on 3.5mm output on both Single-End or Dual DAC mode. I tried plugging the device on my PC to use it as an audio output with drivers installed, also not working on the 3.5mm output.

The only thing that works for now is the Bluetooth connection. Which for some reason is weird because I've taken great care of this device and only use it for playing music. Now it's partially bust. If anyone has a copy of older firmware versions for this device, I would highly appreciate it if you can provide a link that I could download it from. I am very upset and frustrated as of this moment with no fix with this issue.

We have been providing direct support to Eric over Facebook, he now got the previous firmware.

Hello!!!

Is it possible to add url-links to radio stations streaming (in flac quality) to the Shanling player on my M3X? I would like to use one Shanling player and not install other ones to listen to radio stations. However, Poweramp performs these tasks without any problems.

We have no such function in our app.

Would just recommend installing whichever app is best for these radio stations.

Thank you.
I also observe a strange situation with my Shanling player on my M3X. The player constantly "confuses" the number of songs. For example, if I have 4,000 tracks in my collection, Shanling player after updating the library notes the correct number, but in a day or two it can write 1,000, 2,000 or 12,000 songs.

This is the only way to fix it so far — I go into the All Songs option, select any, then switch to the next song, and the player shows the correct number of tracks. But this is all a waste of time.

Is it possible to fix it?

This is standard behaviour of our app. When you go to All songs, it loads the library by parts and at first it can show lower number of total files.

Been there for years, I don't expect there will be any improvement for this coming.

just look for other music players since you can try a lot of them from the playstore

I use Poweramp on my M3X.

The only possible advantage of using the Shanling app is that it doesn't output at a fixed sample rate (as Poweramp currently does).

You'd have to have very acute hearing to detect artifacts introduced by resampling. Personally I can't hear any difference.
