@shanling

Can you provide a link for firmware 2.1 that we westerners can use?

Thanks

OK we will try another way rather than the Baidu pan-it seems that it is not friendly to foreign friends.

Yeah, for example, the DX80, I read on and on about others having problem after problem with theirs.. I don't experience any of that with mine.. So it really is either "Operator Error" not knowing what the different noises are that are happening internally, or perhaps product quality deficiencies. Who knows.. At the end of the day, the M2 has been a very stable player for me, as the DX80 has also been, and tomorrow, I will receive my Shanling M5.. So hopefully that one will continue the trend..

I'm still thinking about getting the M2 whenever I get the opportunity. I've have had opportunity but have always decided not to get it in the end. But now since it's been on the market for awhile and I hear so much good feedback from everyone who owns one I've become very interested again. The M5 looks good too but it's more than can afford. I'm sure the M2 would be enough for me but I'd still have to sell my X3ii.

Being a purist, I was surprised that I actually use the case that came free with my return unit. It provides you with a nice grip and in addition protects the M2 in pockets and in the case of a fall. If the new real leather case will not be too expensive, I think I will go for one of them just for the smooth leather feel.

What is the case that you have made out of? I've seen them in online stores but it says PU leather...maybe that's just fake leather..

Good question. The front of the box says "M2 Leather Case" on a red sticker.    But the back the smaller lettering says it is synthetic leather.  The synthetic material is applied over what feels like cardboard.

In the US I think they would have lawyers all over them for stating it is Leather on the front.

Note:  This is an edit to the original post as I found the box.

  Good question.  I am guessing it is a synthetic material over what feels like cardboard.  I think it is a legit Shanling product so its whatever Shanling was supplying Penon about a month ago.

I wonder when or where the new cases will be available. I think they were supposed to be real leather of pretty high quality. The only place I've seen them online is on here.
