  Hello Rosmadi.

Are you a Sennheiser employee?

I posted about a problem in my Sennheiser  RS 170 in post #487, can you please check it out?

Regards.

Hi 2026,

I'm sorry to hear about your RS 170. I mentioned this to our engineers and was told that this could be due to a rare wire defect in the right ear cup.
Therefore, I think it's best that you get your unit checked at the nearest Sennheiser service centre.

I really liked my RS130's. Besides the occasional analog hiss, they were great for watching TV. I probably would have got some RS180's if it weren't for the latency issue. If Sennheiser releases a new model in the future without the latency problem, then I may pick up a pair. Otherwise, I'll just stay wired.

Hello Rosmandi.

I contacted the service center in Portugal (my country), and they say they can't do anything about it, I have to contact the store where I purchased the headphones.

The problem is the store I purchased the headphones says they already sent me a replacement unit and it's not their fault the headphones still have a problem, so they told me to contact Sennheiser directly.

Everyone is denying responsibility, what should I do?

Regards.

Hi! new here and all that.

Im currently looking for new wireless headphones and really curious about the new (165/175/185/195)  sennheiser models. I see them on sale at a lot of shops, can someone tell me what the differences are with the previous models (160/170/180).

I see a lot of the old models now going for huge discounts, and can buy a 180 now for something like 150 euroes, and wondering if its worth it to shell out a 100 euro more for a 175 model.

Due to new RS line just coming out, RS 160, 170, and 180 are in great prices for clearance.  Just ordered RS 180 for $190 new.  I was torn between RS 180 or the all new RS 175 for $240.  Ultimately I chose 180 because it was $50 cheaper but assuming it has better sound quality than 175, although it's older wireless technology.

Did I make the right decision?  Any opinions?  I wonder how good the new RS line is.
Furthermore the new RS 185 is now $400!  No discount what so ever.

Not older wireless technology, just 'proprietary' as I think kleer is licensed for use by Sennheiser, whereas they developed their own wireless method with the new series.

I've had the RS170 for a couple of years and the transmission has been perfect with no dropouts - you've made the right choice in my opinion and saved your cash!

Wow I've been so close to ordering the rs 220 in the past. Now with these new models and the older ones being available at lower prices I'm not quite sure what to go for.

If i wanted a great listening experience for tv and movies but also the best possible sound quality for music would that take me towards the 195 and 220 or do those models just offer more features but not better performance ?

I also thought about RS220 but if you read reviews at Amazon, it has lots of bad reviews for dropouts and bad digital optical connection.
That's why I chose RS 180 and am happy with it.

I would decide whether you want an open back headphone or closed back headphone and then I'd pick accordingly from the old line (with such great prices now) that relies on the KLEER technology.  As stated earlier, I think the reason for the recent change is Senn didn't want to pay a licensing fee for tech they don't own.  The KLEER is very reliable and sounds good.  I ownt the RS 170's.  I did change the ear pads to the 180's which wasn't inexpensive so if the 180's have what you want, that's a good recommendation.

Best of luck.

More I think about it I am happy that I chose RS 180 for $200. RS 220 has issues and RS 175 or 185 is not discounted and there is no performance jump.
I thought about RS 170 being closed ear not to disturb my family for night movie viewing but went for performance and price difference was minimal.
