Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

.... the schiit keeps flying! That is, soaring in sound. Vali 3 continues to positively shatter preconception. This time,

with Focal Clear OG + Norne Audio Vykari - a headphone / cable duet whose price is more than 12x that of Vali 3. In terms of complete, plausible sound - really nothing missing except the very grandest of 'scale'.

Let’s face it: massively oversized, double-walled, Schiit-sourced cardboard boxes are the most comfortable of cardboard boxes.

Could also just be him boycotting my packing efforts for the upcoming move. Who’s to say, really.
Careful! Kitty might take a journey.

I am not going to argue with experts, but I know what I hear, and I also notice that the article assumes traditional design techniques that may not fully account for what's possible with more up-to-date design methods, such as thinking of the sound field as an illuminance field and applying computer graphics techniques such as ray tracing to solve for the radiated energy profile that achieves the intended sound field values at the listening position. That of course requires exact modeling of the transducers and flexible DSP to shape what the transducers radiate. I so happen to know that the software engineer who developed Linn's latest space opt comes from this background...

Yeah, that's a pretty old article. Computes double every 2 years so, since that was written, we can do 32-64-128 times more filtering in the same amount of time, or something.

In that article, the response by the author of Audiolense was most illuminating.

Dear whomever recommended the Bendix 2C51s: Got a matched pair, have thus far tried them in Lyr 1, Lyr 2, Mjolnir 2, and Vali 3 is next (remember to ditch the adapter, John!). Overall, excellent sound! Thanks for the tip!

I normally don't read comment threads, thanks for calling my attention to that one, indeed illuminating.

What did you think of that cable? It's gorgeous but the price is a bit eye-watering....
.... my favourite & Trevor's workmanship is nonpareil. ☑️

I thought Hapa Audio has some beautiful cables. More $$$ still! :frowning2: Trevor's are more attractive.
I had not heard of Hapa Audio. Interesting, and I am content with my cable 'portfolio'.
