To all who may have bricked their X3: There may be a potential fix.
According to xDuoo, the reason why some X3s are bricked while flashing RB using the old manual method is because the system files are corrupted (duh). However, the device still works in recovery mode. I followed these steps to save my X3:
- Connect a micro-usb cable to the X3.
- Pressing the MENU (not back!) button, connect the other end of the cable to your computer. Your computer should now show that you have some device connected.
- Using the zip and instructions from xDuoo, flash the stock firmware with the same tool RB uses for the manual method. Make sure that you keep the X3 securely connected while flashing - this was why I bricked my X3 in the first place
- Reboot and flash RB again using the update.zip method. Your X3 has now returned from the land of bricks.
If anyone wants to get the .zip xDuoo sent me for recovery,
please PM me. I'm not sure if I can/am allowed to publicly distribute the recovery, so I'm staying on the safe side.
Hope that helps, and feel free to ask more questions.
