How would you describe the GS7E sound?

Also, which is more appealing to you, the HTC 10 or the Vivo Xplay 5 Elite?

The GS7E sound isn't bad, but for a premium device, it should be much better.  You have to turn up the volume to 100% to really hear anything. I am using the s7e with the triple driver 1More iem, together with poweramp pro and I still need to crank up the volume to a close 100 to comfortable hear and enjoy the music I'm listening too. I am coming from a Note 5 and never had to crank up any higher than 15 - 25%,  so you can understand my disappointment!
The Vivo Xplay 5 Elite is more appealing, but I don't know anything about the reputation of the company over HTC. Specs wise, the Elite is better, but I will feel better to go with the HTC 10 if I require support for any reason. Personally, my choice would be the Lenovo Vibe X3. It has a more premium look and the internal hardware is top-notch!

Oppo and ViVo are the same but different variant from 1 main mother company. I almost went with ViVo, but like I mentioned, I had been gone for years on smartphones that don't work with T-mobile extended network, so it defeats my T-mobile and having a smartphone all together. I was so glad that finally I could find one, and that is HtC 10 :D

The Vivo Xplay 5s is a beast in hardware and DAC build up

I'm convinced. I'll definitely be purchasing the HTC 10 soon to replace my Galaxy Note II

For what it's worth, I have the 10 as well (for a few days now) and I love it. It has a surprising amount of power for less efficient IEMs. Haven't tried full-sized headphones yet, but it has sounded fantastic with my DN-2000J earphones, my MRD-EX1000s and my LZ-A2. I have the LZ-A3 coming now also and I assume it will rock with those.

Yes, the 10 sounds is good. I am glad to hear from more members, so please keep it coming.

Check out for TTPod T2E if you want something reasonably priced and has good audio with the 10

How can you be so sure if HtC 10 uses snapdragon ?

Its a logical conclusion, the DAC on the Snapdragon 820 processor is 24/192 so they would most likely use that rather than add another chip.

Multimedia
• 10-bit 4K decode
• 1080p240 FPS decode
• 4K HEVC video (Decode: 60 fps,
10-bit. Encode: 30 fps)
• Simultaneous 1080p30+1080p30
inbound/outbound
• WCD9335 audio codec
• Hi-Fi 24bit/192kHz FLAC playback

Sorry to say, but I won't believe that snapdragon's DAC+unknown AMP beats mighty ESS DAC/amp in LG G5 or V10, not mentioning even better Meizu Pro 5 or Vivo's dual Sabre DAC phones...

Don't rely on specs to make a final decision.

Also keep in mind that day is only one part of the chain, the implementation is much important. My note 4 with Wilson chip did not do as good as note 4 Snapdragon chip

Exactly .Implementation of these parts is crucial. Some people are only looking for the ESS sabre DAC.But that doesn't guarantee the best performance and sound quality output.
