Another album from another band that captured my attention when I heard it, introducing me to a new band and making me an instant fan. Scale The Summit put out some of my favorite instrumental prog music. They still your and play shows regularly so here's to hoping they hit the studio and put out some new recorded material ASAP.

Been entertained by roon radio tonight and this came up. It's Atheists and Believers by The Mute Gods, a prog-rock supergroup featuring Nick Beggs (Steven Wilson, Steve Hackett and Lifesigns), Roger King (Steve Hackett) and Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson and The Aristocrats). Beggs takes the vocals, bass, Chapman stick and guitar, King takes Keyboards and guitar and Minnemann takes the drums and percussion.

Here are the top 20 new albums I've been enjoying from the first quarter of this year. No particular order, just my favorites. And Opeth and Dream Theater have new albums dropping later this year too!

Another roon radio discovery, The?Lie (2019) by German prog-rockers Seven Steps to the Green Door, which is part two of a trilogy (with The?Book) with part three arriving in May. It's basically a (very good) rock opera along the lines of those by Ayreon, with some amazing music and a standout performance as "Father" by Peter Jones of Red Bazar. All five albums are available on Qobuz, so I assume they will also be on the other streamers. If you want CDs they are available on Bandcamp.

Inner Prospekt is excellent- I circled back tonight to listen to “Canvas Two” and love it- a great recording!

Here are the top 20 new albums I've been enjoying from the first quarter of this year. No particular order, just my favorites. And Opeth and Dream Theater have new albums dropping later this year too!

I've been through all of them now, most I had, a couple I didn't like but the rest have been added to my library. The only two I didn't like were Chelsea Wolfe, which was great until the harsh vocals came in and that wasn't even on this album, it was on one of her earlier ones and Hands of Goro just sounded like a garage band to me.

This was a great recommend. I’ve been listening to their other albums and keep adding each. I may buy the discography and give it the pggb treatment.
