Getting a bit more comfortable working with building my own light, both soft and hard. The top shot was my effort at emulating that hard-lit celebrity look using a bare flash. The second was mixing ambient with flash, using a brolly box.
I also brought in a belly dancer to my University earlier this month as part of a week celebrating International Cultures on campus.
I like the visual elements of the circle underneath her, but I would crop alot tighter on the belly dancer. This is more of a street photography type of crop, as though a student is passing by and caught a glimpse of her but kept walking. Would be nice to see the expressions on her face.
The weather here has finally broke and I have a free day tomorrow and plan to use it getting out and shooting. Hope to post some results tomorrow evening !!
The hobby photographer gets the most benefit by actually seeing. As well as getting references about life for a future date, it is all about taking notice of life.IMO
How does the light hit here? How do those flowers look today?
None of that stuff gets noticed often without a camera involved in a person's life.
