Thanks Miceblue and hans.

The battery life seems to be average (it will not last one flight home

 if used as DAC/amp).

Hans - did you try to use it with HTC One's native apps? Or does it need apps like UAPP to work with it?

I tried it with Google Play Music on the HTC One M7 and used YouTube on the iPhone 5S. Plugged it in, and it just worked right away.

That's good news. If G play music worked, that means it can work natively. Nice touch from Oppo.

Oh I just saw this. If any of you are attending RMAF, this might be an interesting panel (although it starts in 4 minutes).

Apparently Tyll from Innerfidelity will be there as a moderator, along with Mr. Levitsky from OPPO as a panelist.

Hopefully the pics are of the PM-3 prototype and the final model won't have a glossy finish.

I would not worry about the finish on the PM-3. This is a working prototype. Aesthetically we are still working out things, which includes build materials, color schemes, and final industrial design.

The PM-3 looks interesting. This may be wishful thinking, but if Oppo could release a sensitive closed back portable planar magnetic headphone at under $400, that would be one hell of a product.

Colour me interested. Subscribed. Can't wait to have more word on pricing and market release. :)

As others have mentioned, a user-replaceable battery would be excellent. Given that Oppo already makes very nice cell phones with this feature, it should be possible. I don't really care for the leather covering partly because it would prevent this feature, and it might end up looking pretty crappy if the leather suffered any damage.

I just did a battery charging test with the HA-2 right now.
100% charge on the HA-2 to 75%~51% (exact percentages can't be measured since it shows LEDs for increments of 25% battery)
I Started charging my iPhone 4S at 22:21 with 4% battery and I just stopped charging at 0:10 with the iPhone's battery reading at 98% (which took around 1.5 hours to charge).

So I'm guessing you can get around 2 full battery charges, maybe 2.5 out of the iPhone 4S with a fully-charged HA-2.
