I have the HE-500 with stock cables. I repeat, with stock cables.

I see your point. The HE- cables are actually pretty nice, this can not be said for the Oppo cable.

LOL, WUT? The HE-500 cables are without a doubt the. Schiitiest. Cables. Evar.

I'm waiting for 'Best in the Verse' cables to open for orders again.

They're supposedly about to expand their line of offerings.  The email I got early this month said they were shooting for this month to roll it out, but that's the last I've heard.  One week left!

I'm just waiting for new HE-500 cables to be open to order. I doubt I really 'need' to replace the PM-3 cables, but the HE-500 cables are straight trash. Straight. Trash.

Does anyone feel like there is a HIFI man headphone worth looking at in comparison to the PM-3? Dont mind if it costs more at long as its in the same range.

400i for sure, I own both, overall the 400i is the better headphone to my ears, but harder to drive, open and  not portable.

The HE-500 is my main home headphone, so I'll be able to compare the PM-3 to that after I get the PM-3 (tomorrow).

the portable form factor, price of the pm-3 is just so hard to beat.

unless i do go for open, there is nothing i can find that would be a match for the pm-3

even the closed el-8 the price difference is too large.

i could go with a sennheiser maybe? LOL too many options but nothing yet i can find that betters the pm-3 (portable/closed/price)
