I think you're wrong, but I tend to like white and blue as a combination. With black and blue, the blue doesn't really 'pop', especially a grey-blue.

That is true, but it depends on our leanings. Some like a vibrant popping effect (you for instance, and me to an extent) and others have a preference for a more subtle tonal contrast effect. I would be pretty happy with the white as well, hell I own some M80s in white. Regardless, the steel blue is amazing as a colour and I'm sure your extremely happy.

I got a pair of these the other day, and I am very impressed! They have a very rich tonality and full sound. A little closed in because they're closed back, but hardly anything worth complaining about. Tremendous job by Oppo.

I am actually pretty impressed how open they sound for a closed headphone. They don't have the soundstage of the t70,but they definitely feel open and lots of room for the music to my ears.

They don't feel claustrophobic, no. They pair perfectly with my Pono player. Wonderfully rich and detailed. The instrument separation is excellent while still retaining a unified sound.

I have the HE-500 with stock cables. I repeat, with stock cables.
