Not a huge fan of the looks. I was hoping for maybe a closed looking/version of the edition 10/12 in anodized black or silver sort of what Audeze did with the XC by just converting their open LCD2/3 to closed.

Kinda like Ed8 with roids. The angular S-Logic EX is interesting. Kinda reminds me of the MDR-1R but with S-Logic plate.

Maybe the good thing about all this is that their new headphones will have an effect on their future lower tier headphones as in less sibilance and better mids. A transfer from the Sig series towards the HFI and Pro Line please.

i am still feeding happily at the pro900 level..down from ed8, heard the sigpro stuff, didnt bite. 
Lets see what happens here.

To me, this looks like an attempt to design the Ed8 for a larger market - if construction info were ever an indication of sound sig.
 
Looks very 70's design if you ignore the hinge mechanism. Very 'square' enclosure and pad shape!
 
I must confess that I am a fan of Ultrasone though - Ed 9, 10, HFI 780 and Pro750 in da house!   780 and 750 collecting dust though.

THIS will be the Second disappointment from ultrasone!i love the Edition 7,9.8!but since the edition 10,12 and now 5 are the Wrong DIRECTION from ultrasone!in my opinion the best Phones from ultrasone are past!regards
