most cost effective headphone under 130 eur/dollars

well for 130€ brand new its hard to beat, but considering he is going to be using while there is a lot of noise around, its not a good choice, but if you were to commute for around 1-2 hours a day max, it would be better to buy the 598 and some good isolating IEM, at least that's my case, am still researching

The HD598 is nice, sure.  I just meant there's also closed-back headphones that are enjoyable, and just because a headphone is open doesn't necessarily mean it's better.

I agree with the IEM idea.  Even cheaper ones can sound nice enough, and they usually isolate better, and are easier to transport, and less chance of getting broken or stolen.

no one says that open is better, and I don't try to justify anything, mine is a simple question, I'm a newbie. Senn HD598 is the only open headphone of the list, if you can recommend another closed one I appreciate it :)

I can say that the soundmagic hp150 popped up quite a lot, but you can easily find that the 598 are better in terms of sound

I don't know if this is help or not, but i settled for senn 598's
and for outside use am not sure, about aiming around hifiman 400 or fiioex1

But I have to use them on library not at home, so I think I'll go with beyer DT 250 or 150. Akg seems to had improved new 550mk2 about fitting but I don't know if is it true or not and for 140 eur it is a risk

If isolation and use for outside\library\university\public transport is a big part of the time spent with it, I'd personally consider IEMs. Best setup for me is open headphones at home, and IEM for outside.

Fidue A73 is probably the best thing you can buy in that budget imho. €125 on Amazon.it

But a good over ear headphone like beyer DT 150 or seenheiser or another sounds better than a good a iem I think. I have a JVC ha s400 that sounds better (soundstage, clarity, punch, bass, a lot, ecc) then all other iems I have had, like superlux 381f, LG quadbeat2, xiaomi piston 2 and 3

open over ear, i agree with you.

Closed over ear vs IEM in the €150 range I personally think IEM are better.

Just buy both and return the one that you like the least (both are on Prime 30 days return time).

EDIT: BTW, have you read this thread? http://www.head-fi.org/t/433318/shootout-114-portable-headphones-reviewed-xiaomi-mi-headphones-added-04-21-2015

It has a nice ranking of lots of portable closed headphones (on ear though), Sennheiser HD 25-1 II is one of the highest ranked and goes for €165.

Why do you say that? Really an iem Can beat a good headphone in this price range?

Sound on shennheiser hd25 does not justify twice the price than xiaomi mi headphone and the old ath m50 are near to the sound quality of shennheiser and also of beyer DT 150 or 250

Consensus (http://www.head-fi.org/t/619172/question-about-iems-vs-headphones  http://www.head-fi.org/t/639044/500-iem-vs-500-headphones/30 ) is that up until the $200-300 price range, IEM (especially the hybrids or multi armored drivers) are technically superior sounding compared to full size.

The one thing IEM struggle to perform at is soundstage, but that is not a factor when the other competitors you confront it to is closed full size headphones.

That said, I keep suggesting to buy both the A73 (have you read the reviews?) and one closed headphone of your choice and compare them for a couple weeks. Then you decide which one sounds (and fits, and is more handy to bring around all day, etc) better to you and return the other.

PS: If aesthetics\coolness is a deciding factor I'm out of the discussion though
