Lotoo PAW 5000: Impressions Thread

I just got two pairs of balanced Grado headphones (PS2000e and GS2000e), and I am loving the balanced output of the Lotoo PAW 5000. Of course I had to get a 2.5mm-to-XLR (4 pin) adapter (eBay). Great sound!

I'm kinda planning my next portable audio step. Paw 5000 mkii is on the short list but wondered if anyone new if Lotoo had plans to implement DAC functionality. Researched some but didn't see that as a feature. Colorfly C10 is also on my list (as I like my C3) and it has that function. Thank you!
Doubt that it will have DAC support. If so, mark 1 should getting it by now.

Loving this MKII, listening with eb200 earbuds and it sounds so natural, used my senn 598cs earlier, damped on high gain and that was great as well. I'm very pleased with this dap. So much so I gave my wife my Hidizs AP200. (I have a Fiio X5III so no real loss)

Thank you for the impression! I believe first of the year I’ll dive in and grab the Mkii. I’d beat myself up if I got something else. I’ve been looking at the P5k for a while and the upgrade seems to be very welcome.

Don't know about the effect of the upgrade but I have been DELIGHTED by my (original) Lotoo PAW 5000:
  • Balanced output via a 2.5mm connector;
  • Tiny size;
  • Turnable, rather than tiltable, scroll wheel;
  • Damping factor adjustment (H or L);
  • Bluetooth capability;
  • Brighter display than Lotoo PAW Gold;
  • Smaller and lighter than PAW Gold;
  • Has digital coax out;
  • Allows speed up and slow down of music without changing pitch (to match your pace while exercising, for example);
  • Sound almost indistinguishable from the PAW Gold, at least for easy-to-drive Grado headphones;
  • Charges with a standard USB connection rather than a proprietary charger required by the PAW Gold.
