The vegan ported pads on the V2 keep it less lethal but still detailed.

How do you consider your listening combination for metal?

The Sony hap-z1es has been my only digital audio player so I can't comment on any others. It has built in dsd upgrading that smooths the sound a slight amount. It has kept me happy and not wanting something else.
There are a lot of daps available now but I haven't heard any of them.

What dap do you use?

I have several DAP's, but for desktop I use the Aune X5s. But it has no gapless, so eventually I'm looking at the Eversolo DMP-A6... or something else that takes SD cards. Nothing by Topping or SMSL though. Their players add crossfeed to the signal automatically, and undefeatable.

I really like Nightrage, "The Venomous" and "A New Disease Is Born" are up there among my favorite MDM albums, and I've enjoyed their later releases as well. However, the last two singles they released have really bothered me, I need a sanity check from other people. The singles "Euphoria Within Chaos" and "A Throne Of Melancholy" sound like crap to me, as in the production is terrible, to the point that I can't enjoy them fully. It reminds me of the low mp3 quality sound you got from bittorrenting back in the days. I don't know if they went for a more "raw" sound, but it didn't go well IMO. Vocals sound muffled and everything blends together into a porridge in the mix.
