Lets Talk Metal

I know. I saw that right after I replied.
Kinda depends on the voice really. I love some tracks by demon hunter like cross to bear where they aren't really sing, but for some reason it is just okay. I think it has to do with his voice. I'm looking for something kinda like 115 by Elena Seigman I suppose. (Another song in a zombie game)

I do wonder whether your tastes will broaden once you get more metal experience. I mean, those tracks I shared before were excellent material, but you disliked most of it and weren't able to appreciate their genius because it was too extreme. (There's actually far more extreme stuff out there.) When I was a little kid, extreme metal frightened me. Now, I like pretty much all types of metal. With most other music, I'm a lot pickier.

I listened to that track. You might like these bands/tracks off the top of my head.

Tristania: Exile, Opus Relinque, Crushed Dreams, Libre
Lacuna Coil: Daylight Dancer, Trip The Darkness
Alas: Absolute Purity
Evanescence: Bring Me To Life

I've enjoyed some of these myself, but how about some actual METAL? haha. The problem with recommending metal to someone who you are trying to "initiate" is you (I'm guilty of doing the same thing) end up recommending stuff that a lot of metal heads would consider watered down metal, metal-light, commercial metal, music that is basically pop rock masquerading as metal. Not that there's anything wrong with rock. I listen to a lot of Indie. But, there's no point trying to convince someone that Radiohead or Vampire Weekend is metal!

Did you see the context of the conversation? I shared some metalcore, black metal, nu metal, and so on, and most of it was too extreme for him. Some of those Tristania tracks may also be too extreme for his tastes.
