Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Brilliant!  Thanks for doing this.

Sign me up for 3 sets of FA-003 adapters. Same if you do Shure 840's; I'm tired of dealing with stretched out flaps.

Will do.

That's actually a good point, BMF.  If enough interest is drummed up, I will be motivated to design another set of baffles to adapt to a different pad, for instance the SRH-840 or perhaps an AKG pad, etc.

Do you want the straight or angled adapters?

Both straight and angled.

By the way, looking at some quotes online for printing, I'd need to order at least 10 pairs (20 baffles total) or a certain type for the price to warrant it.  It doesn't get cheap until you hit about 20.

Since I'm 3D printing, its a semi-soft plastic material, black in color.  Wood would need to be CNC'd and would be very costly.  I highly doubt it would produce any net benefit.

When I finalize the design I can give you guys a list of details about the baffles, and maybe take some pictures of mine attached to the headphones with the pads on them.  I don't want to give too much away about the design since I've worked very hard on them

Just out of curiosity, how many people in this thread would be willing to purchase either a straight or 15 degree angled custom baffle that allows the T50RP to easily fit an FA-003 pad?

Depending on price, I might get a few....

If you can do SLAs I would reccomend using DSM Somos NeXt. It will be a tiny bit sticky with resin in the corners and pockets, but with some sanding it is very smooth and extremely durable. I use it for parts that have snap features and thin rib structures. I does tend to overbuild by 0.3mm or so... FYI :)

I figured that the cheaper polyamide or something along that road would be better.  The baffle isn't going under much stress, but slight flexibility will help.  Also, if I haven't mentioned it yet, its cheaper!

How will it be installed? Will you have to take the drivers out of the native baffle and use 3d-printed one?

Sounds interesting. Don't have FA003 pads either (since they are nowhere to be found) but... Sounds interesting!
By angled baffle if you imply angled drivers too I may be interested... Depending on prices too :x

Very good idea btw!

No, this is simple an add on baffle.  You do not have to remove the drivers.  I might design something like that in the future but I'd honestly rather not.  This baffle goes on the ear side of the stock baffle with the pad removed.  The FA-003 Pad goes on the new baffle.  Its very simple and requires no permanent modification.

I got my FA-003 pads from FrogBeats.

If only 4 or 5 people want baffles I think I found a way to do smaller orders and still have them be cheap.

count me in for 1 angled & 1 straight.

i got mine from idews but everyone's backordered & no new stock yet.  i wonder if this is a harbinger of increased pricing?
